Vitax Organic Potato & Vegetable Fertiliser is a carefully balanced organic feed designed to support sustained growth and higher yields of potatoes and a wide range of vegetable crops. It provides a slow, steady release of natural nutrients, helping to increase potato harvests while producing strong, healthy plants throughout the growing season.

Suitable for use in open ground, raised beds, potato barrels, tubs and planters, this fertiliser also enriches compost in containers and is ideal for organic vegetable growing.

How to use

One small, gloved handful = 25g

Direct Planting (Beds & Borders)

  • Apply 140g per m2.
  • Lightly fork into the soil before planting

Planting Potatoes

  • Dig a trench 10-15cm (4-6in) deep.
  • Space seed potatoes 30cm (12in) apart, shoots facing upwards.
  • Cover with soil to form a ridge.

Potato Barrels & Containers

  • Use containers at least 30cm wide and deep.
  • Use multi-purpose or John Innes No.2 compost.
  • Place seed potatoes 15cm (6in) below the rim.
  • Mix fertiliser evenly into compost.

Typical Pot Sizes:

  • 30cm pot - 10g
  • 38cm pot - 15g
  • 50cm pot - 30g

Application for other vegetables

Vigorous Crops (Tomatoes, Courgettes):

  • Before planting: 140g per m2
  • Top dress: 70g per m2, twice during the season

Medium Vigour Crops (Carrots, Beetroot, Onions, Leeks):

  • Apply 140g per m2 before planting or sowing.
